How does the access fee to enter Venice work?

Starting from April 2024, those wishing to visit Venice for the day, without staying overnight, will be required to pay an entrance fee of 5 euros.

But in any case, everyone, including those staying in hotels or apartments in Venice, will need to register and have a QR code certifying their registration.

The request for the entrance ticket and the QR code to be shown at the controls is currently limited to 29 days a year, mainly corresponding to peak times, such as holidays and long weekends.

On days when the entrance ticket is required, the reservation or payment of the access fee will be valid for the entire day. Therefore, it will be possible to enter and exit the affected areas as desired, showing the QR code in case of checks.
